I am the Associate Director of the New York State Summer Writers Institute in Saratoga Springs, NY.  Fall, Winter and Spring, I hold private workshops in my home in San Diego, teach creative writing classes at UCSD Extension and other cool venues, and mentor Science and Engineering students on personal essays.

As a kid I was a chicken pot pie fanatic. Today I bake any kind of pie. If you can dream it, I will bake it. Savory Salons is my way of bringing pies and writing together. Ask me how I wrote my first novel through baking pies, and I'll tell you how you can do the same.
